Futuro(s) // Future(s)

Já era intenção do CAMPO ABERTO reinventar-se ao fim do seu primeiro ciclo anual de programação, concluído em Abril de 2020. No entanto, com a obrigação de distanciamento social, o encerramento de cinemas e associações culturais e a situação sanitária decorrente da pandemia global Covid-19, a última sessão do CAMPO ABERTO realizou-se já online, no Youtube. Esta foi uma sessão excepcional que não pretende, de modo algum, substituir a experiência colectiva e partilhada do cinema em sala.

Neste momento, e tendo em conta a evolução imprevisível da pandemia, o CAMPO ABERTO está em processo de transformação procurando novas formas de manter viva esta comunidade audiovisual informal e em correspondência aberta e sensível, em formatos diversos do do cineclube regular. Provavelmente, o futuro deste projecto desenhar-se-á em linha com um convite aberto a vários artistas que responderão numa correspondência mais esporádica, e livre, que resultará, quando possível, numa sessão colectiva anual.

Até lá, os ESQUILOS PARA AS NOZES juntaram-se a outros colectivos no sentido de construir uma cine-bicicleta itinerante para organizar sessões de cinema ao ar livre na cidade de Lisboa.

It was already CAMPO ABERTO's intention to reinvent itself at the end of its first annual cycle of existance which ended in April 2020. However, with the obligation of social distancing, the shut-down of cinemas and cultural associations and the health situation arising from the global Covid-19 pandemic, the last session of CAMPO ABERTO has already took place online, on Youtube. This was an exceptional screening that in no way intends to substitute the collective experience of cinema as a shared duration in a screening room.

At this moment, and taking into account the unpredictable evolution of this pandemic, CAMPO ABERTO is in a slow process of transformation looking for novel ways in which to keep this informal audiovisual community alive, in an open and sensitive correspondence, in formats other than the regular cineclub. The future of this project will probably be designed in line with an open invitation to several artists who will respond in a freer more sporadic and open, correspondence, which will result, if possible according, in an annual encounter and collective film program.

Until then, SQUIRRELS TO THE NUTS has joined forces with other collectives to build a cine-bike to host open-air film screenings in the city of Lisbon.
